Though Experiment: Data vs Feelings

As a web marketing professional, I'm trained to believe proven data over "feelings".  For example, if web 2 banners are displayed, whichever one that gets clicked on more often and generate more sales is the "better" banner, regardless of how each banner makes me feel.

I'm currently getting over a fever.  My thermometer says my temperature is back to normal, but my head is still woozy, should I assume I'm still sick because I "feel" sick?  Or should I believe the hard data presented to me, and say "Data trumps feelings, get over it, I'm fine"?
