Catch Up in Pauls Life

Haven't really blogged in the past month or so, been busy with small random things. Small things + busy = nothing interesting to blog about, and too busy to blog about things that are not worth blogging about.

Let's see......over MLK weekend, I took a trip to Long Island. I told work I'd worked from home the Friday before MLK weekend so I could drive to Long Island on Thursday night, and worked out of my aunt's basement Friday during the day.

The weekend after that I went bar hopping in Raleigh NC. There was a get-together of my college buddies in Raleigh, and it was definately worth the 4.5 hrs drive to join them. Had a blast.

Last Wednesday I was going to teach an Excel class. Nobody showed up, so the "starting date" was postponed to next Wednesday.

This past weekend I somewhat took it easy, started playing basketball again because the weather was good. I was out of breath easily, took even shorter time than usual. I will get back to being active, when the weather gets better.

Final Goodbye to Marketsmart Interactive

Wow, it's final. The very first company I ever worked for, the company that introduced me to web marketing, taught me the fundamentals of Search Engine Optimization, has officially closed down. Once one of the biggest names in SEO, is now just a memory. I went into the company when it was called Websourced, and left at Websourced's peak. Then I heard about the company crashing, rebranding into Marketsmart Interactive, Rounds of Layoffs, and now, finally, the closing of the company.

Other than the salary, I had some great times there. I felt like I was a part of a team (Team Barracudas) and I had lots of fun. I learned so much from that company, both career wise and people wise. I'm really sad to see it go away.

A lot of people I know from there are blogging about it, just as I am.

New Years 2007 at Saki in DC

It's been a while since I posted, I've been busy with the holidays.

I spent my Christmas break in Charlotte. Always enjoy going to Charlotte, it's one of those things that never get old, especially now that I only get to do it a few times a year. No specific details here, same old stuff, but always fun every single time, always worth the drive.

I spent New Years in DC. I went to this place called Saki. It was a trendy Japanese restaurant with a bar/dancefloor/DJ at night. The tickets were about $60 each, and it included an open bar between 8-10, buffet (mostly sushi), and the party itself (music, dance floor, DJ, lighting effect, etc). My date and I stayed there till about 12:30 or so, had a blast.
